Apr. 22--Chrysler will lay off 51 people, or nearly half of its hourly employees, from its massive Orlando Parts Distribution Center on Boggy Creek Road near Orlando International Airport this summer, in what a company spokesperson Jodi Tinson said is "part of the continuing separation between Daimler and Chrysler."

In a statement released by the company, Chrysler said it would "exit certain operations at its Orlando PDC, beginning in May and continuing through July. All impacted work involves Daimler parts distribution operations."

Tinson said that the current workforce at the distribution center is 110 and will be reduced to 59.
